This is an amazing product. The systems are fantastic and the BPs are simple to read even for beginners. I learned alot just from tinkering with the project and understanding how the systems blend together.
You can easily tune it to your needs, and I would even recommend that people new to UE or to game development to check it out. On top of the transparent documentation, the Discord community is very helpful and Marcin does a fantastic job in answering questions.
This is the best thing I bougth on the UE marketplace. If you are thinking about buying it, do it. This is the best thing on the market as of to-date.

I dont know where to even begin with this review other than WOW! It has EVERYTHING you need to make yourself a half decent game and some with some patience. Everything is very well organized within folders and within the blueprints themselves. On top of the kit itself being amazing the support is also amazing. The creator has helped me wrap my head around a lot of the stuff from just his own tutorials on youtube or help within the discord.

I was impressed by how just opening the project for the first time and playing, it already feels like a real game, just missing environments and characters. I think it's perfect for designers, so you can start greyboxing and creating your game right away.
I bought this asset a while ago and I'm surprised that it is still getting so many updates, that allows you to create more types of games. The price might seem a bit high but with all the new updates and upcoming ones, I think it is worth it.
It's hard to find good assets in the UE Marketplace, but in my opinion, this is one is worth it, even if you don't use it in the end, I think there is a lot that can be learned here.

One of the best starter kits on the market. If you are experienced with blueprints and UE5 in general it is extremely easy to modify and tailor the system for your own needs. Takes so much work out of the gameplay coding process and leaves more time for creativity and art/level design!

Awesome collection of tools to setup your game! The code is well organized so you can easily expand on it by inheriting/overriding stuff here and there without touching the original folder that much. In my case, I made two-way bindings between the player's health attribute (variable) and a GAS attribute so that I could add more logic via GAS later and the whole process was fairly straightforward (only "fairly" cause you still have to learn GAS, that is). Anyway many thanks for saving me a few months with probably a much better result! :)

This kit is great, the discord is active with constant support for all questions, additionally there are many video tutorials. The modular design is great and makes it easy to reskin your own meshes while using the same logic. An inventory system would be cool, but I still find this is the best third person shooter kit

I've downloaded quite a few templates and tried almost every Shooter Kit Demo on the Marketplace. This is easily the most complete and most polished of them all. Nothing comes close. Whatever you need to kickstart your new third person shooter project is included. It even has first person aim for weapons. All the weapons you will ever need. Pistols, Shotguns, Assault Rifles, Grenades, Medkits and many more. It even has enemy AI and these are quite varied also. Quite a few different game mechanics are included. The ladder climbing is again the best I've seen in any template. Player movement is next level. Sliding and rolling are default actions, along with punching and kicking. You cannot go wrong with this kit. The Dev is very helpful and is always updating and improving features. Plenty of tutorials and the Discord group is very helpful. Don't wait any longer. Check the free Demo out. If you only buy one shooter template, then this is the one !

I started studying Unreal with these assets and completed a third-person game in a flash, and I'm about to launch it. At first, it was not easy to learn and work on from a beginner's point of view because it was a lot of content and sophisticated, but as the work was gradually completed, I learned how excellent the quality of the products offered was. What's really important is that the developer responded very sincerely through Discord, which helped me a lot.

An amazing, well thought out, and intricately detailed kit with eveything you could ask for ruined by awful animations from prioritizng an oudated skeleton and an outdated input system. It's hard to pull away from using the Lyra Starter Game when so many of these blueprints on the marketplace fail to make a better animated movement system.

I created a character in Blender with the Manny Rig. Then followed the tutorial on how to start a new project, then followed the tutorial on how to retarget and boom! Everything works. This makes learning Unreal Engine so much more fun. I wont lie, that price was a little scary when you dont know what you will get or if it will work with your vision. BUT in this case so far its the best purchase I've made.

This is a must buy and well worth it. Everything is basically ready out of the box with you only needing to tweek things that are needed for your project. The support is also amazing as I was having an issue, went on Discord, and quickly had the issue solved. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would!

I have been using this kit as the foundation for a Top-down game, so I'm using this kit in a non-standard way. That being said, this kit has had no problems handling the small changes I've made to make that happen. I am still using the vast majority of functionality provided by the kit, just with some new things layered on top. The fact that I can do this and the kit is able to handle it has left me very impressed. I also joined the discord to see what other people are doing with the kit, and it is nice to see how active the developer is in responding to questions and feedback. I would have no problems recommending this kit to someone looking for a solid start to a third person shooter, or even a top-down shooter if they are comfortable doing some modifications themselves.
Outstanding a must buy * Works on OSX Apple Metal although only Windows is stated.

I'm happy to report that despite the warning this Blueprint project works on OSX on Apple Metal just fine.

A lot of work was put into this and can clearly tell. everything was somewhat easy for me to understand, I'm stll a rookie with Unreal Engine, Lol. anyways it's a very good starter template for third person shooters. Trust me, I've seen people make it happen with this kit. You can learn a lot from this kit as well from others that used it. I've seen really good games built from this TPS Kit! so I give the kit by itself a 10/10. and reason for that is because it's amazing that the person that made this kit put all of this effort into just a Third Person Shooter. My Overall Rating is a 9.5/10 And I did this becuase there's no way to save you're progress with the kit without messing anything major up. I know there's a way to do it yourself but boy I gotta tell ya. Game Development IS HARDER THAN IT LOOKS!!! I've had this since it came out. I started learning Unreal around 3 or 4 years ago, and made my own base game with lots of markeplace add-ons. That was a great way to learn. But now transitioning to version 5.2.1 I figured I'd revisit some other solutions. This kit now has almost EVERYTHING I built into my base system, but does it BETTER and CLEANER than mine LOL.
It's a really impressive system he's developed here and it keeps getting better and better.
Amazing, but could have a little extra to really sweeten it.

I love everything about this. Its the best kit on the emarket and has literally almost everything i ever wanted to use/make.
The only criticisms i can add is it might be cool to add in mechanics for the stealth aspects. As in bodies not disappearing upon death and instead lingering on, with the ability to drag the ragdoll bodies to hide from the patrolling enemies. Lack of this is the only thing keeping me from giving it a full 5 stars (even though i really want to, because its amazing)

Well after one day on your plugin, I give my feedback, the plugin is really interesting, it's a huge time of work for sure, and to be honest, it's my own opinion, this is the best tps template on the market actually.
I hope that the plugin will be updated soon with new tutorials like using mixamo & metahuman characters on it more easily, because the retargeting is a bit annoying, it could be interesting to have a converter tool or something like that for this tps plugin, I asked to the team of the Mixamo Animation Retargeting 2 plugin to contact the developer of this plugin to work together features like that.
For the rest, this is just perfect.

giving it 4 stars not because i brought this thinking it was network supported but its not so my bad lol, but mainly because when looking at the project quickly for example the effects system they seem to be all the old legacy particle system and considering the price of this kit and now most people use niagra systems i would have expected the system to have been updated to a niagra system ,so people like me who use niagra systems could easily just change out the effects as i have only just got this bit of kit and only looked at it briefly i dont know what else seems outdated once i have looked at the project in more depth ill edit my review but for now ill give it a strong 4 stars
but Having said that i do agree 100% with what most of ther other reviews state it is a really nice system and probabaly one of the best out there and if your looking for a single player template then you should try this system

I have owned this pack for quite some time now and love working with it. Out of the box, it gives a great gameplay experience already, and it can be easily extended to include your own features. And my favorite thing by far: It comes with fully working AI companions who can use the same weapons as the player, follow and fight. Best pack on the market in my opinion.
Stellar - AAA quality

I'm a bit embarrassed to say, but I'll come clean.
I've been tinkering around with a few other systems like "oh, that looks shiny". Like IWALS and ALS - "yeah now I can build a splinter cell".
What strikes me after evaluating other systems for my action-adventure, third person, spy game "Operators", other systems might look shiny at first...
But, I quickly realized how much effort has been put into the TPS system to really nail those "last 5 %". Getting to a AAA quality on an indie budget requires a toolset that has that extra level of quality, the polish and the attention details. Other systems don't have those last 5 %. And the last couple of months with tutorials and now understanding the system (and Unreal) much better than I did a year ago, I'm super stoked to go even deeper with TPS.
It's hard to imagine a 3rd Person Shooter framework that has higher quality - AAA quality, in my books.
That said, it will require you to work diligently to learn the framework, but then it enables you to get to AAA quality and ship a AAA shooter.
Lastly, the Discord and creator feedback is immense.

After trying the demo and purchasing, I can see why this kit has over 100 reviews while maintaining a positive rating. The blueprints were very easy to understand. I bought this kit some time ago (like 6 months ago) and I can tell you that is probability the best thing I've bought from the marketplace.
Everything in this kit is very good organized. The blueprints are quite easy to read for a project like this.
The kit contains a lot of animations that you can use and some nice meshes, specially for the weapons.
I personally bought it in order to learn how to work better in unreal and I can tell you that this kit actually helped me a lot with that.
You will still need to work a lot in order to create a complete game out of it, but for a starter pack this is more than enough.
Keep in mind that you will probably need time to understand everything this kit can offer and you will probably need even more time to modify it to behave as you wish.
As a final conclusion I can say that the assets in this kit are worth the full price and the blueprints will help you become better at developing games.
Probably the best value I've seen on the Unreal Marketplace

Summary
This kit represents months and months of work of a small team. If you're an indie dev working alone or with just a few people working on a third-person game concept, this one has so many things built out that you can then expand upon. If you're serious about your project but need a starting foundation to get it off the ground, this kit is worth many times the price.
What do I love about it?
- Massive, massive kit with a jumping off point built on everything from camera, weapons and items, cover-based system, AI, utility blueprints, health, UI and much more. I couldn't nor wouldn't ask for more.
- Many, and great, examples and prefabs that you can easily dive into, make tweaks to and make your own.
- Absolutely fantastic community & support. This is the Discord I keep coming back to, among all the various ones I've joined for Unreal projects.
Some learnings I've made
- While a great starting point for a beginner it can be dense. It can be hard to find the righ spot. Thankfully the support is absolutely top-notch and once you've find the right place for something, it's really well documented and you can get to work quickly.
- The only other challenge is related to the first one, but a subtle difference. Due to the complexity of the systems, it can be challenging for a beginner to expand on the concepts.
- The core of this kit is so rich that it's it's been absolutely instrumental for me in keeping momentum and motivation up. For me, my game is a side project. I have limited time and want to be really smart in how I invest that time. Every time I sit down I am able to make serious progress on something key to the game because of how robust this kit is.
I simply could not recommend this kit more.

Pros:
If you are level designer, game artist or hobbyist this project for you. Everything works fine and fun as it is. It could easily bring life in static environment without touching game mechanic scripts. Just focus on level layout and level scripting, visual stuff or storytelling.
Cons:
If you want use TPS Kit as pure framework for your own game project (my case) think twice. There no spaghetti blueprints, everything commented and looks neat. Though there no "elegant simplicity", scripting sometimes overdone and it could be not easy make changes, replace or remove some logic. Fresh installed project is heavy, about 7gb on my drive and will require lot of time to clean up unnecessary content.

It is not just about the big content, the easy way to customize everything, the awesome structure, but the unbelievable effort and time Marcin is putting into supporting. All of the content, assets and systems you get in this pack are extremely high quality and is more than worth the cost. It's not just a 3rd person shooter template, but it has an advanced cover system, a climbing system, diverse enemy A.I. and tons of weapons that are highly customizable. No exadduration, you will save years worth of time with this pack. Not only that, but the discord channel is great and the creator is more than willing to work with you to solve and problems. Overall an amazing pack!
One thing I will note for anyone who potentially want's to integrate a metahuman into the project. Don't bother trying to retarget it because there's a better sollution. Save yourself some time and simply place the metahumans head onto a UE4 compatible skeleton, by parenting it to one of the bone sockets. It works fine and there are tutorials on youtube for how to do it. You're welcome.
A Nightmare to change your character mesh

The pack as it is is almost perfect. Just don't think you can easily change the character mesh , the developer used extra bones on his skeleton , if you don’t not know how to use blender to add these bones to your character skeleton then you going to struggle. It would be great if developers keep to the standard epic skeleton's , don't understand why they must make things so complicated. There is also no guide to change your mesh.

I will say this is not by any means for someone just starting an unreal engine this is a very complex asset it has a lot of things going for it. The developer has a discord and is super quick on getting back to you with questions. The blueprints are all labeled and is neatly organized explaining what what is does. This is definitely AAA quality but sometimes can be hard to make changes for what you want. This has nothing to do with the asset or the developer but mainly the lack of knowing something in the engine. If you have been wanting to make a third person game this will probably check majority of the boxes you want if not check the road map they have for it and it will be probably on there. Hats off to the developer on this its truly amazing and giving all the support on his discord he doesn't have to but you can tell that this is something they really care about.

It is very flexible, high quality assets combined with ease of use have made for an excellent ally in my current game design endeavours. Great movement of characters... good ai. Great playability out of the box. Even upgrades to UE5 no problem. My one issue is I'd love to be able to record gunfire with take recorder.... but I think that's more of an issue with Unreal in general. A+ folks!

I had been eyeing this kit for a while, and as soon as I saw it on sale, I pounced on the offer. This kit is remarkable, with understandable blueprints, an amazing demo, and a very passionate and attentive developer. I asked a question before purchase, and it was answered in less than 12 hours. There are several helpful videos and tutorials on different things, and the developer seems to enjoy helping out customers. There is a reason most of the reviews are 5 stars, this pack is amazing. However, as remarkable as the pack is, the movement of the player, especially upon sprinting, may feel a bit janky or stiff. The pack is still definitely worth a purchase, and any beginner or intermediate developer looking to use a third-person shooter mechanic should 100% invest!

This is an excellent, high-quality sample project with an active developer and Discord Community.
There is so much here to work with and dissect. It's great to see a project of this quality being 100% Blueprints. Despite UE 4.27 being the only supported platform, I was able to open it in UE5 without any issues.

This is the Library of Congress of third person shooter stuff - does what it says on the box and then does 300 other things. Highly recommend it in just about any case, either saving time on rolling your own or beginner/intermediate devs looking for good examples of how a robust TPS system is set up. Plenty of room to expand on your own once you're familiar with the framework.
Documentation is a little lacking but the dev is super active and the discord is its own resource. BPs are structured well and commented, and the learning curve isn't too crazy once you spend a bit of time with the demo project. Community is friendly and some users provide their own tutorials on accomplishing specific tasks, just search the discord and you'll likely find someone talking about your use case.
Updates coming are gonna be dope too. Overall 10/10 worth it 100%.

Definetely one of the most comprehensive packages, has tremendous number of features, well crafted systems and what is mostly important in this type of projects, it's prepared for creator's adjustments - even tough not all systems are crafted in a way I wanted them, inserting new solutions that replace existing ones is fairly easy, as whole blueprint section is well documented and Author is of great support on discord channel.
I am making a rapid prototype of a third person shooter and this project is shortening development time by 90%. Honestly, at this price it's a steal.

I cant say anything new that other reviews have not covered. All the good reviews are completely accurate. This asset is WELL worth the money and one of the best investments for my game design career ever. I buy assets to learn from them. This asset has taught me extremely well....and its only been a day.

In general this is a good pack that should easily qualify for 5 stars
However, the basic controls feels yanky and unpolished, specifically the in and out of cover that bugs out if you run or roll into a cover. If you want a game that is using this mechanic a lot you'd be disapointed. Should be an easy fix for the developer though so I truly hope they'll get around for some polish (feel free to reach out if you need a repro case).
The control-scheme might also feel a bit bloated as it's trying to do a lot. I personaly don't see a need for both a slide and roll mechanic, or at least the control for them could be a bit cleaner as the roll (C key) conflicts with the get into cover command. I'd suggest a double-tap on any of the walking directions to do a roll in that direction instead.

This is by far one of the best kits Ive ever expieremented with. There is so much content on such a professional level that its hard to believe I bought it at such a low price, which wasnt on sale. Everything is well organized, smooth, and even has features I never knew about. The more I tinker and code around, the more i discover and learn. Unlike other projects in the marketplace, customizing is extremely easy for a beginner like me and it saves me DAYS, if not weeks of work on my end!

For a long time, I wasn't too interested in this pack after I had bought it in 2017, but this 2.0 has brought nearly everything it had been missing from the original to the table and is now easily worth more than the asking price. It is the best starter kit on the marketplace hands down, aside from missing foot IK (they have a roadmap to updates). It is nearly a finished game on its own, but is more of an advanced kit you can tweak and merge to suit your needs. Buy it. Author is usually on Discord to help developers with their inquiries.

I've been using this kit for a few months, and I'm blown away at how good it is. So much functionality is built into this, and in my experience it's extremely well-made and pretty much bug-free.
On top of that, it's heavily commented and well-documented, and the developer's support on Discord is absolutely legendary. Join the Discord and see for yourself - any question you may have about how to use the asset has probably already been answered there, and the developer (hamsterPL) seems to never sleep.
I'm so glad I'm using this kit as a foundation for my next game, I can't recommend it highly enough. 6 stars.

Im a total newbie to unreal after using unity for a year or so. This pack has now convinced me to stay with unreal.
The pack has EVERYTHING i could possibly want in a template. It was a tiny bit overwhelming at first due to the huge number of options this pack gives you but after playing with the included map/demo for a day or so i feel really comfortable with it.
Go to the discord server and see how hard the dev works with helping out people and the community is just as helpful.

I test-packaged this code because it didn't make sense to use it as a starting point if what I created wouldn't become a game. The code is cleaner than a game I'm working on now. That says it all to me. It is beautiful and clever and I hope one day to be as good as Marcin in using Unreal Engine, particularly setting up reactionary animation and AI.

First off, I want to say that I am a novice at best when it comes to UE. With that, the help the dev has given, the assets available, I've progressed my project forward light years from what it would have been if I had to learn it solo! Not to mention, the blueprints you can learn from and the conversations that the community in the discord has on a daily basis is a learning resource in itself! There is NO reason for not getting this. None. Quality on top of quality. Knowledge, assets, experience two fold, and an amazing product to get your hands on!
In the way of a complete project, very few if any come close to this......and the dev has more coming down the pike................

Incredible. Detailed. Flexible. Comprehensive. Educational. AAA coding. Active updates. Active support on Discord (within reason!).
I am blown away by this pack. This kit easily should be double the price.
Before you buy, be mindful that this is the right Template for you:
It's not Replicated (not multiplayer). You can integrate replication but it will take work.
You need at least SOME foundational UE knowledge to customize this kit. Newbies can still benefit by buying it and messing around, but they will want to do that along side viewing generic tutorials on UE.
Not officially UE 5 (yet!) although some in Discord report that it's working fine in UE 5, for the most part. It works perfectly in UE 4.27. The developer plans on making it UE 5 ready in the releative near future.
These aren't cons for me at all, as I want to make a singleplayer experience, and I'm not a complete idiot with UE, and I mainly use UE 4.27 still. I've learned a ton so far, and I have had nonstop fun splashing around.
I wish I could give this 6 stars. It's one of the best Templates on the marketplace, if not THE best.

The v2.0 update out performs the hype. Support on the Discord channel is second to none. Highly customizable Everything. At double the price it would still be well worth the cost just in time savings alone. The Blueprints offer a HUGE leap forward in the learning curve. There are many TPS kits out there, and each one has its own merits.
But after trying many different kits, I personally think this is the kit that comes closest to the quality of commercial productions.
The locomotion system does not need to be integrated with ALS, the cover system is robust even at this stage,and Practical AI.
Versatile internal design that can be easily customized.
There are probably other TPS kits that look just as good at a quick glance.
But if you want to make your own special TPS, this is the best kit, in my opinion.
Moreover, the creator is in the midst of an amazingly large update, which is nearling completed.
This kit contains as much or more cost, time, and passion than it takes to make a single game.
It has also been publicly announced that the price will be increased once it is completed and that the update will be free for users who have already purchased it.
In other words, you have to buy it now.
I wholeheartedly recommend it.

This kit is amazing. All the blueprints are easily readable with great annotations. Marcin has created lots of in depth tutorials on how to swap the character/weapon meshes as well as several other great videos. It's a very useful kit and certainly helped me understand UE4 a lot more.
Marcin's Discord is also very useful for extra troubleshooting/ideas and he always updates us on new updates!

This is an extremely well designed kit and a very powerful asset in the right hands. Nearly every parameter you'd want to customize is exposed for you to tweak, from the individual weapons to the AI behavior. However, because this kit tries to cover so many use cases & situations it can be a bit daunting to wade through all the parameters. Developers with some experience will face little issue molding this kit to their vision, but those new to UE will face a steep learning curve.
TLDR: If you're intermediate to advanced level with UE and looking to create a solid third-person shooter, this kit will give you at least a 1,000-hour head start.

Being relatively new to UE this asset is like a godsend. You could pretty much make a Metal Gear Solid game (or think what Rare did with Goldeneye / Perfect Dark etc). Loads of blueprint logic included - AI detection is realistic / Stealth killing options / Ability to have AI sidekicks that fight with enemy AI. It's the first marketplace products i've bought that makes me think i could actually make an entire game with it that some triple AAA studios would spend a couple years on. Then i was pleasantly suprised to see it is also being updated. The new features will make the product even better. It's helping me learn as well figuring out how everything is assembled. Many thanks to the creator. This has to be one of the best marketplace assets on here.

This is amazing! I love it! It's everything you would ever need to make your own shooter game... Anything additional you need would be simple enough to add, but as far as value? I think this is definitely worth every penny. I paid full price for this one, and have no regrets. This saves so much time, and I'm learning a lot by dissecting it and making my own changes.
As far as the other person talking about it taking over 2 months to add your own character? It might be a skill-level thing, because it took me under 2 minutes to add my own custom character (which was rigged to the mannequin skeleton).

Me having left working on UE4 for past 3-4 years approx. did not face any challenge using the asset. BP is properly commented which makes it easier to navigate and work on. I have no prior expierence in using the unreal engine just the basic stuff. This kit is top notch if you want to achieve quality and fast third person solution! Its super fun to work with this foundation and the results so far are pretty cool! :) The blueprints even for a big noob like me are all with descriptions and are well to understand. The developer has his own discord and is working on an big update that is coming in the near future. Really helpful support and so far the best asset i purchased. Great Kit comes really
with almost everything you need for a neat base-game-project.
-Customizable weapons, pistol, shotgun, assault rifle.
-It comes with a very good AI based on the blackboards. The AI can even drop ammo.
-It has a cover, checkpoint, climb and damage system. It´s pretty nice, you can just add a
damage component to any mesh and shoot it if necessary.
-There is more like elevators, surveillance cameras, quick-time events and many more features.
-The support is amazing. The developer really tries to help everyone in time if he is free. And he is
already working on a bigger update for a while.

Complete RPG/Shooter Control as you can get in one package! Professional quality animations and movement. Ive been working with this asset for about a year and have watched it grow and expand and just when you think its set, it get's better! What amazes me is how the Dev can work on this amazing pkg and be on Discord to personally answer every question!! Even when a senior member answers, the dev will still chime in. The guy is completely dedicated to his work and is really a nice guy to boot. If you didnt get this gem early when it was 60 bucks, dont worry, its STILL worth twice the asking price!

I've been using this over the last 4 years, the developer goes out of his way to answer questions (no joke, the guy is always on his discord and answers fast, best customer service I've experienced on the marketplace from a publisher) and if you're new it's probably one of the best places to start. Tons of tutorials, and the system has gotten more and more updates over time. I actually started knowing little to nothing, and with the discord and time it has been one of the kits that has helped me progress. I've integrated multiple systems into this, and now with recent updates you can add melee weapon combat easily.

I'm a beginner and believe most here are. I started by learning the basics of Ue4. I then jumped into downloading everything I could find and was soon overwhelmed. This was my best purchase, in that it Inspired and Enabled me. The Included Levels (Maps) provide excellent example game play and show the basics of placement. I learned the most by the Empty Map (included but re-name), which is hardly empty. This is where this work shines. Create a floor,light,sky and Player Start and your ready to go. Press Play and you have a Paragon character with Health Bar, 4 different Guns with Inventory, sound and Animation. Just go to the other Assets, Enemy AI (fully animated), trigger boxes for vaulting, climbing, opening doors.......Just drag them into the view-port !!! Instant Reward without all the other clutter. Now, I just have to learn to Blue Print this myself. Thank you Marcin !

I think it's the best third person shooter kit I've ever seen, no doubt! Even better than many shooters in the triple-A industry.
PROS:
-Solid patrol system.
-AWESOME for level designing. You can place and change enemies's variables/behavior on the fly.
-Pathnodes and the navigation work perfectly (I've tested it with a 3-floor building and enemies searched all floor hunting the player. Tested in a large area as well and it worked).
-Easy vaulting and climbing placement for enemies and player(s).
-Good support.
-According to the creator, it'll be updated and you won't need to pay for that twice.
CONS:
Cover system! The cover system works nicely for enemies, but it's not good for the player. And replacing for a new cover system means you have to tweak all the logic and... If you're working on a third person shooter, you know what it means.
Highly recommended. It will save you months of work for a fair price. For me, this creator saved my project!

Why does the marketplace even exist? Just buy this. You will not be disappointed. It's very involved, plenty to get your teeth into, but even at a beginner level, you can have something up and running in minutes. Updates are a long time between, but when you see what's involved, it's understandable. Just incredible.
Add to that the fact that Marcin is probably one of the most approachable developers out there. He's very active on the Discord, and answers questions with grace and patience.

I have purchased just about everything on the marketplace (not really, but it sure feels like it) and this kit is by far the best!! It has it all, guns, AI, climbing, menus, cover, etc. the list goes on and on... it is very complete. And the updates certainly plus this kit to the max... the May 2019 update could have been its own kit. It is well worth it’s price.

I do agree with IngloriousArtist's comment, developer is using lots of unnecessary meshes and textures and doesn't want to understand we don't need that if we are making our own game : quite the opposite, it is a waste of time because we have to remove the useless and keep the useful.
If I want paragon characters or whatever, I'll grab them on the marketplace, dude. They're free!

A pain in many aspects

I would like to point out this is my personal experience, no offense or harm intended.
I was one of the people who bought the original Shooter Kit back when it was on Version 1.
Over time this developed to something huge and I can not deny it is not a work of art. But I sadly need to deny that I can work with this.
First of all, the Character Mesh has extra bones so if you read some reviews here and see the dev saying there are no extra bones - do not believe it. Luckily I am working with Blender in my industry area so I knew how to change an armature to match the missing bones. Still, I can not trust a dev who denies an issue of the community. My apologies but this is a no-go.
So as many say, this system is absolutely lit, BUT it is only lit as long as you keep it as it is. As soon as you try to add new meshes or edit the animations to a somewhat acceptable level so it just has a bit of your own style - broken.
I am tired of this. If my purchase would not date back to 2018 I would request a refund for this asset.

This product is worth every penny! There are ready made fully interlocking systems which are easy to get up and running. I was impressed with V1 but V2 blew my mind in myriad new ways. It is all in Blueprints and the outof box AI is outstanding! If you are looking to make a third person shooter story do yourself a favor and check out this product!

Hello,
Firstly I would like to say I have been looking at the pack for a solid foundation for a
concept that I would like to work on for some time as it is so full of interesting
components which are amazing. I am looking to pick this up in the next month or
so but would like to know some information to better adapt to my understanding
and what the limitations of your amazing system are. I should mention that my practical
skill with BP is limited which makes some of what I need to ask more
complicated.
a) Firstly, and separate from the other questions I
would like to query if the UE4 build was still an active build for you to be
updating? If it is not this isn’t a problem it would just limit my options as I
am new to UE5 at the moment.
1. Would the system be adaptable to be able to make
a horror themed game where it is action orientated?
2. Does the system have to be limited to the weapon
wheel you have set up or would it be easy to adapt it to something like The
Last Of Us has for weapons? What I mean is where you craft a holster which becomes
an active slot which the weapon can be holstered to.
3. I see that you have a wide array of weapons, but
I haven’t seen if Chemical Throwers (Flamethrower and the like), Bow and Arrow/
Crossbow, or something more unique like a Tranquiliser gun would be an option
for implementation easily? I know you addressed the Rocket Launcher and Bow and
Arrow but it’s more a thing of if it is possible? As a side query would changing Fire modes on
weapons be an option?
4. On the note of Question 3, would implementing ammo
types, or even different Attachments be difficult to achieve in real time? I
know you have attachments on different weapons but I haven’t seen it being altered
in real time, like Crysis.
5. Is it only one type of grenade that the player
can carry or can it be set to multiple types? Likewise for the AI can I set
what the AI can use? Grenade, Molotov, Smoke, ect.
6. On the note of Stealth takedowns, would aerial
takedowns or ledge takedowns be a difficult thing to set up in the current
build?
7. For the Cover, can enemies vault and remove you
from cover, or vice versa like in Gears?
8. Like the Ladder system is there any other
systems like Zip-Line, Rope Swing, or Vehicles? I would like to have these and
have the knowledge to implement into a default unreal document but how
difficult would it be to apply them to this project?
9. The AI Buddies system, would it be easy to make
your AI an immortal entity? I don’t want it so that the enemies cant damage
them just that they can’t be killed. I suppose this is more of a DBNO (Down But
Not Out) type of thing applied to selected Friendly AI.
10. Are the AI types exclusive to the 5 that are in
the 2.1 Trailer or can there be others? I would assume that Shotgunner would
cover most of the gunner classes, and Civilian would be perfect for static or patrolling
non-combatants but what if I wanted something like animals, or even specific enemy
classes like Ninja, or mutants?
11. Addressing the Melee, I would like to have some
Melee within my project but it would be very specialised and would mean
carrying a melee weapon constantly. Would this be a problem for your system? Likewise
it would need to have its own AnimBP set up and logic, without going into all
the difficulty parts of setup would the system accommodate custom melee?
12. On your youtube channel you have a Version 2.3
preview, I was wondering if the climbing is designed as a full climbing system
or if I would have to migrate the one I have into it? (I followed MrWhiz on
youtube to get it, as well as fine tuning from UE4 Poseidon).
13. When it comes to Buddy Interaction in the V2.3
preview, I was wondering if simple things where already implemented in the
existing project? I’m looking for an AI who could throw some ammo to the player
when they are low, but if it’s a future system then that would be something to
look forward to.
14. In the Questions there is one about Akimbo, Duel-wielding,
I was wondering if using a pistol and knife or torch would be classified as
this under the system? All I was thinking was using a blend by bool and bone
setting the left arm to do those actions, in the knifes case it was more a MGS
CQC type idea but I guess it would be a hard thing to implement into existing
things. I know you have a torch on the weapon as an attachment but it was in case
I wanted to do it the hard way and have the characters off hand doing something.
15. You have stated about starting with or without
weapons, however, what if I wanted to change level in real time and change the
weapons you have? Say you start in World A with an M4 but then switch to World
B where you can only use a Lever Action Rifle, would this be possible, and vice
versa?

2 For sure, it is completely open and you can add it .
3 You could extend it and add these weapons within current system. Fire mode - there are few, I think
you could change it on runtime by changing it directly on data asset.
4 I don't think it would be hard. Attachment system is already in package. You would need some user interface
for it though.
5 One type of grenade at once. Yes, you can give AI any throwable weapon.
6 I don't know. There is no mechanic like that in package, so for aerials, you would have to code it on your own.
7 No
8 No. I don't know how diffucult it would be. It depends on your resources, skill, quality and time.
9 Yes, you can make it immortal. There is an option for that already.
10 You can add as many AIs types as you want.
11 So with 2 weapons at the same time? You could do it already actually, because there are melee attacks
even if you are carrying firearm, so yeah, you could add it as component.
12 Depends what do you mean by full climbing system.
13 No, such mechanic is not in project and it is not planned.
14 No, that would be 2 different weapons. But it is doable. Look at point 11.

Strange Aiming Behaviour

When I'm aiming towards certain objects, the weapon/arms get forced slightly to the left or right. I would like to disable this, I want the Player to choose where they aim, regardless of the collision, or what their aiming at.
Where is this logic handled? I can't find it, and i couldn't see it in the docs. This is such a drastic feature for a Shooter i'm curious why you didn't make this a checkbox, or are atleast somewhat clear. Is it collision based? Is it line trace based? Is it a bug? Is it intended? It's not on the Tick, not on Aiming, not on the Weapon Data Table, or the Camera one, looked in the Anim Instance (both of them). Can't find it in the Player Variables either.
Edit - I found it. "CalculateAimOffsetAngle" Function in the player, and tweak the output values for the return nodes at the far right. I'll leave the Question up incase anyone else has the same problem. FYI I was using a custom FPS Mode based of the original TPP Camera logic, causing this function to interfere.

Isn't the transition rule only able to call the previous state.

State Weight (SprintStart).

It depends on your skills, resources and target quality. It is possible of course, some people done it. Although you would need rework and redesign some mechanics, like ladder, cover system, stealth kill, to work properly in FPP. Also new animations would be needed.

- Does it allow for swapping built in anims for custom ones? Modular characters using Leader pose component for customizable characters?
- If we want to fine tune stealth or other gameplay for say, much large scale enemies and not the standard manniquin pawn, is there anything hard coded that may prevent or hinder that?
- Do you know roughly how big the kit is if it's brought into an existing project "barebones" as in, no fluff? No extra meshes, mats, textures, fx, etc.. just the base that is needed to get the gameplay mechanics sorted?
- Scaling things like, amount of weapons that can be carried?
- The fine aim seems to have drift.. it looks tied to the animation.. can this be turned off or adjusted?
- Can the cover system be adapted to worked without a button press? Something like MGS? Just pressing against a coverable surface?
- From a legal stand point where were all the models, textures, mats, vfx, foley, etc sourced from? Were they created by you or by someone you piad, are they sourced from other packages? I don't intend to use any of them, but if I buy the kit, which comes with the assets, whether I use them or not.. what is the licernsing like with that?

Question about compatibility with GMCv2

But maybe my understanding on how the systems interact is not correct. Thought it was worth asking, sorry if it's a silly question and I'm misunderstanding how the movement components work.
From their documentation:
"(1) Does the asset/plugin in question depend on Unreal’s default Character/CharacterMovementComponent classes?
If so it will not be directly compatible with the GMC since the GMC has no relation to those classes whatsoever (as outlined above). This is the only restriction for single-player/standalone games."

I don't know this plugin, but it should be compatible I think.
It really depends what you want to do. Like change character animation completely, have your own player etc.

I don't know if everything will fine, since it is preview version of engine, which means it can have bugs.

I think when you sell your asset as complete project and it does not contains some C++ based plugin that have some dependency in Windows os libraries then there is nothing against your asset having Mac as supported platform. Any project that does not contain some specific Windows plugins opens on Mac out of the box. Would you be able to add Mac as supported platform? It is better for you as you will get more customers, but also better for me for example because when I buy your asset and want to "Create Project" from Epic Launcher on a Mac it won't let me create it. But at the same time I can use a Windows computer, do "Create Project" from Epic Launcher there and copy the project to a Mac and then it just works. But it is unnecessary step and makes it difficult for people who only have access to Mac.

I didn't mark it as supported on MAC, simply because I don't have MAC, so I can't test it. And that's Epic policy. If there would be a problem with MAC version that someone would report, I can't test it and fix it, because I don't have MAC.
Although from what I saw in people comments, it is working fine on MAC.

It is important for me as I now work in 4.27. I saw your tutorial with a lot of hacking around trying to transfer UE5 mannequin to empty project. If I buy your asset and select "Create Project" From Epic Launcher and select for engine 4.27 will I get a full working project, or will I need to hack around and do it by converting UE5 project myself?

What hacking around? There is no hacking. Yes, you will get full working project on UE4 and UE5. You don't need to convert it to UE5. You can directly create project on UE5. No need for hacking.

There are various tutorials for this, depending how your skeleton is build. If it is based on Unreal Engine Mannequin skeleton (it is standard engine skeleton) then you can use one of assigning skeleton tutorials:

I got some more question to ask, sorry:
1) How hard is it to disable things as sidekick, change animations for knocking with weapons ect?
2) Does this kit also provide the settings to set the AI health and the damage of the weapons?
3) Regarding shooting on the leg of an AI: Should I recode the whole thing if I want the AI to fall on his knees(to provide a more realistic experience) or will it be enough to change the animation?

Question

Hi, we own this asset but have a little problem. We are implementing stamina. The character does not walk or run just jogs. Changing values in Player BP an/or Character movement does nothing. I can force the character player to walk but it's speed is off. We have changed the speed settings for walk and the animation plays at slower rate but the capsule is moving at the jog rate.
I can adjust the jog max speed and the player moves accordingly but the walk settings have no effect. The default movement is Walking.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I think you are changing walk speed from movement component, not from TPS kit character. Look for "walk" under settings from TPS category. If you have trouble with this, write on Discord so I could send you a screen shot.

My existing inventory system also works with data item. Project files about copying would only lead to me losing everything from my entire game. Transferring Blueprint to your own project usually only leads to a lot of errors because you don't have the references from the existing project.
Unless it's built with inherited interfaces that can be added to another project. Perhaps a good question is if this project does has interfaces that can be added in class setting - enherited from existing character blueprint ?
Have you never tried to add this to another project? to see if it works or can work ? Because I think that most people who want to buy it wants to be sure that it is possible to easily add to their own project and not only create a game of a created project
It looks really great but I'm afraid it's a bit risky to buy it just to try it out. This project should have been created to be added to a game, then it would be top.

How did you transfer these blueprints? Did you migrate it? Because then references would be fine.
It does have various interfaces but not everything can be plug and play. There are a lot of mechanics, it is almost full game and there will be even more.
Yes I tried to add it to other project and also plenty of people I saw already did too.
As I wrote before, first you need to copy over project settings and then migrate content.

It is complete project so it is "create project" but you can migrate assets to different project if beforehand you copy over project settings.
I don't know how difficult would be to use your inventory system, since I don't know it and it depends on your skills and time.
But there is item system already in project so you could use that with some data assets for example. I think for inventory you just need data asset with information what that item is (name, description) and some icon to show it inventory.

Hey there. Just played your Demo. Thank you. Well done on providing an excellent playable demo for us to see all the features of such a polished well rounded product. I am very impressed. Every other Dev needs to take note. This is how you showcase a product. You have covered most aspects of what would be required in a modern TPS game. If only you had a full First Person view with Body Cam. Maybe you could add this as an extra. It would be the full kit then. Are we able to control the AI companion or give it commands? Also, just one minor issue. I was able to see through the pistol when in First Person view. Great work and best TPS Kit I've seen and I've seen them all.
EDIT: Thanks for your reply. You are very welcome. Just had another run with your Demo. I will purchase this very soon. I'm hooked on it. Just need to find a way to modify it, so it offers a FPS Bodycam view. There are a few tutorials out there. My game really needs FPS with a bodycam. Some sections are 3rd Person though and your Kit offers so much. I actually missed a section first time around. The sections that slow the player down etc. If I wanted to modify this Kit of your to show a true FPS view with hands for the Pistol and Shotgun, would this be fairly straight forward? I wouldn't worry about any other aspect, like the ladders etc. I'll join the Discord and post a video for you to see what I meant regarding the see through pistol. Also, I bought an RPG template a while back and the Follower or Companion just has basic commands, like Follow Me or Stay Put etc. No great rush but it would be really handy if you ever had the time. FPP camera - I would have to recode and redesign some parts, like FPP with cover system, ladder, stealth kill etc. It is more then few camera changes. Quite bigger task. Also animations would have to updated/added. I'm not planning to add it.

Yes, I think it can be integrated with dialogue system. I have not seen anyone doing it specifically, but at the same time it doesn't mean no one did it. There is no dialogue system in project so I think it can be easily extended.

Save system - currently there is save system for completed levels. In next update there will be new checkpoint and save system, which will also save weapons and progress on level.
Inventory system - there is item system but simply there is no UI to manage it, which essentially is inventory system. I plan to add pie selection inventory, like from Days Gone game.

TPS Kit uses standard default UE4 mannequin, since project was made before UE5. If you want to use UE5 mannequin then you can use retarget or reassign skeleton (I believe they are almost the same). Most animations are in anim data asset. Weapon models you change in weapon data asset. As of body mesh it depends if its mannequin skeleton based and its structure. I suggest joining Discord, because it is easier to paste screen shots. Also there is ton of questions already answered there.

Eg.: When the player is running in one direction and then suddenly changes to the opposite direction?
Is it possible to stop the player from rotating towards the camera when idle? In the demo you can rotate around the player, but when you stop and some seconds pass the player rotates to the direction the camera is facing.
Is it possible to have the player rolling when crouching?
Is it possible to have the player exit cover by either rolling or moving backwards?
Eg. As in Gears of War?

"Is it possible to set animations for quick direction change?" - you mean pivoting? Well not directly - on purpose I didn't use pivoting animations to make movement more responsive. Although there is pivoting state in anim graph - so you could add animation there.

"Is it possible to have the player rolling when crouching?" - No, that would look weird with this animation
But I think you can just change conditions for rolling, pretty much turn of check for crouch and you should be fine "Is it possible to have the player exit cover by either rolling or moving backwards?" - currently no, I will add it in future update

Depends what you mean by easy. Metahuman don't have IK bones (mainly gun bone) so you need to add them in Maya for example and import to engine. Then you can mannequin skeleton to it. People did it already. You can join Discord and see. :)

Retargeting process for main character and enemy characters

Sorry to ask so many question I'm able to follow a process for retargeting animations in Lyra is it the same process here ? Not looking to spend too much time on retarget process, I would personally need with lots of well documented video tutorial content on how to quickly achieve this. I perosonally prefer lots of youtube guides to keep me on track for a speedy learning process. I couldn't see any documented detailed guides or videos directly explaining this retarget process for this template on the link below provided for discord, unless I have overlooked something?

Retargeting process is the same like for any other skeletal mesh.
TPS Kit uses default mannequin unreal engine standard skeleton. There are plenty of tutorials online for it.
If your skeleton is the same like mannequin, you can just assign skeleton and that's it.
When I recover, I will make more tutorials.
I suggest joining Discord, ask questions, community or me will help. Other people managed to integrate their skeletal mesh to TPS Kit.

This looks very impressive and you have put lots of effort into it and lots of potential too. I'm new to Unreal so looking to keep things simple and not get involved with re-targeting customisation or coding. The most important aspect though for me is on how to update with your own character and have all the animations flowing correctly i.e aiming jump idle walk etc, with minimal effort, so I'm not stuck with a demo looking project but with all my own characters (usually made in make human or Blender or Unreal market place) Ideally a simple method where your own character can be imported added detected and animations in a matter of minutes, Is this possible?

Place item BP on your level and in properties choose for which weapon it should be.
To start without weapon look for weapons section in player properties. There just clear references to weapons data assets.

For metahuman you also have to add IK bones since it doesn't have them. You can do it in Maya for example. Then you need to assign mannequin skeleton to metahuman skeletal mesh.

There is save system for completed levels. There is local save system for checkpoints so when you turn off game it will reset. But rework of save system is planned for next big update - that includes save for checkpoints. I don't have ETA for next update yet.

When will this be updated for UE5.2? The Epic Games Launcher says that "UE 4.27 and UE 5.1" are the only versions supported.

1 Not really since engine doesn't support it. It would have to be some custom virtual cursor which engine doesn't have from what I know.
2 There is no need for update. You can still use mannequin. Just assign skeleton to it.
3 No, swimming is not planned.
4 Pie style inventory is planned (something like in Days Gone). I don't have estimate yet. It rather won't be soon.
5 No, since it is in C++ and that's package is blueprint based.
6 No, it does not support replication and it is not planned.

I was comparing your TPS project with another posted very recently on the market and was wondering if you were planning to integrate a head, body, leg and foot gear system? I find this system very interesting.
What do you think about a rolling system allowing dodge rolling on side and back more naturally ?

Now I got discord but when i click on your links it doesn't bring me any where? I am really new to it.
So my question is, I want an enemy type where it doesn't run to attack you, I still want the other ones as well. The issue I am having is. No matter if I put the character movement speed and every combat and tick thing for speed in the character Blueprint to walk and under 90, The enemy will play the run animation, even if combat movement type is set to walk. They won't move as fast, but still play an running animation regardless. The only class that seems to walk naturally is the Civilian class that I can see, but if you put the attack anims on the civilian it doesn't attack regardless. I even overrided the walk class anims in the data assets with the walk animation, but it will just run when the ai see's you. Is their anyway to make it actually play the walk animations?

Of course it can walk. I'm assuming you are asking for melee behavior? Go to melee attack data asset that is assigned to that AI.
In attack settings you can choose "BehaviorMeleeMovementType".

I don't know which map, what are you doing etc. There are any many factors influencing performance, like playing in editor, standalone, shipping build and most importantly what is on map.

Thank you for numbering questions.
1 It is very easy to change health values.
2 Depends what you want to achieve, depends on your skills. I would say you have to go through some Unreal Engine basics tutorial.
3 It should be easy. Unfortunately it is vague term in Unreal Marketplace - since some assets are missing IK bones or badly rigged. If it is same same skeleton structure like mannequin and it is properly done, then it shouldn't be a problem.

I have an issue when I put idles or walk animation with your set. Since your Anim blueprint is tied so many systems. I tried to make an Zombie character from the melee class. I have a walking animation and anim BP but it always goes to yours. I know how to add weapons, add attack animations, but can you possible add two things to your data asset for player and NPC,s. I wanted to add it where you could have more assasinations than the one. Where it can play from an array and automattically pick out of the bunch. I know the animations will be on the creator which is fine. I do my own animations as it is. I wanted to add a collision box if the enemy gets your health below a certain point they can perform an finisher on your character. I can make it with a regular blueprint character, but yours since the Behavior tree is a little more complex. This one would probably could be the data asset as well. Maybe make if the Enemy AI is idle in one spot for a certain amount of seconds you can have it play an new idle animation out of random, on top of your already made Idle animation The last one might be a stretch, but you can tell me if it would be easy. I was wondering if you could make the NPC civilian class use your pathnode set up kind of thing, where they would be able to walk up and maybe perform some animations kind of like Cyberpunk. Like sit down and etc. Then if you shoot them. They can run away. Something like that. I want to say thank you for always responding to my questions and doing your best. You are the best Author that I have dealt with. One of the few things I bought on Epic I don't regret. Your updates keep getting more awesome. Just wanted to say thanks on top of these things.

1 Yes: 2 features level, 5 short levels as example campaign, main menu
2 It's been long time since I tested it. I guess it should work if they didn't change anything. As far as I remember it was only about receiving systemic engine damage, so such thing is still in logic.
3 No. Both packages changed a lot through out years. Video is still posted as reference, it can be helpful for someone.

5 I don't know this package but if output for weapon model is static or skeletal mesh, then yes.

This is the simpliest thing I have asked so far. Please can you update the ai where they will sometimes dogde grenades? Where they will some times not always jump out of the way or not just walk into a grenade they threw? That probably is the most immerision breaking part. The AI is pretty top notch just that. Make it a real quick change and do that as an 2.2 update? That would take you one weekend probably and would be a quick update ,no year long thing. Please? We talked about quick releases. This would be a great one!

About Weapons

On my channel I do animations on Youtube, but I am about to make an swat team one with a few different weapons. An AK47 and a couple rifles and pistols. Could i send them to your Email and you add them for a quick update as an fbx files with textures attached? I work in blender so it embeds the textures pretty easy. You don't have to credit me in any way and their free, It just helps make several new guns for your pack. I am already working on them and they will be good looking and pretty low poly like your other weapons. I can add reloading animations to the guns themselves if need be. I thought it would speed your work up and make a quick update and have several new guns. It would be a win win for both of us. The reason I would do it is because it makes both of our lives easier. I wouldn't have to watch a hour vid trying to implement it and you don't have to model anything. I could change the weapons to have a few matierials each. It would probably take you a weekend or two to implement them into your pack It would add several new guns to your asset, that would be freaking awesome. Just make each gun shoot a little different variation which you already know how to do. Could I make 2 other magnums and Snipers for you to add too? What do you say?

I wouldn't worry about several things on your list. Most of them you have completely done. Ammo Depletion. 2.0 has a complete map, weapon wheel. Ai talking enemies to one another. Etc WIth some music assets from it and the older maps you had in older 1.0 stuff. I don't think most people would really care that much about new demo maps or music., main menu etc. They will make their own for that usually. I mean bugfixes are always a nice touch. This new update you did a buddy/Spawn system. Awesome by the way. I would just build upon that. Make a few new classes, and update a few you made. Everyone bought your pack i can guarantee for the AI and shooting mechanics. So upgrade those. Make new weapons. I can freaking send you some. I am a modeller if that makes it easier for you. A loot box system and touch up the class systems. Tackle one at a time, per patch. On the Class system I would just make NPC's a little more detailed out, A Heavy Gunner Class, Sniper Class, Etc. So more Weapons, Classes, levers, More door interactions, AI improvments would be the most benefitical. I guarantee everyone on your discord would love any of those elements. Beyond a new main menu, or demo levels. Still Great work. Love to see your next update. It gets exciting too see!

- It seems as if the projectiles do not line up with the curser.....only in ADS.....all bullet hits are off to the right of the aim curser, fresh TPSK project, installed it twice to check.....
- Character gets stuck in crouch if you attempt to climb a ladder that is not touching the ground
- Barrels not exploding from projectiles.
- I love this KIT! Curious if others have encountered the same issues in 5.1

Also I wrote on documentation how future fix will be applied.
2 Because ladder needs to be on the ground to climb it (there is green plane indicating that). Character is not stuck - it just doesn't have space to stand up.
3 Which projectiles? I just check and it works fine if you switch weapon to projectile.
4 I'm glad you like it.
I highly recommend getting into Discord channel and look for information there. It is much easier to communicate then here, plus there is ton of other developers.

Have you gave any thought to where you are going next with this? Or have you started 2.2. Most of the things on your road map that are gray have been finished on 2.0 and 2.1. I mean music and the demo map part are already pretty much done in your 2.0 to redo that would kind of be a waste.

I will work on next updates. There are still at least 20 features on the list. What is currently in package is features level, not demo level. By demo level I meant level from finished game. I don't know if I will made it because of lack of assets and amount of work. Also I rather won't be able to get music for demo level, because of licensing problem (I could make it, but it could not be part of package). But that's for much later date to consider.
Currently I'm working on bug fixes and then on next features. I don't know which ones yet.
Is it possible to link the stealth kill animation to the character's melee weapon in the inventory?

I saw the presence of hidden kills in the asset, and according to my idea, I need to be able, depending on the selected weapon, to perform various hidden kills. If not, how problematic is it to tie this system to your asset?

It is good idea. Currently such solution is not implemented, so you would have to add it by yourself. It shouldn't be very hard to do.
I will add it to roadmap to do with some update.

A Couple small Ideas

I thought of a few some smaller ideas for you. Obvisiously its up to you. Maybe on your discord do a poll which ones people want the most. Some of these are small so you could probably do some on a weekend or two. Make a small update, and take a few off days off for yourself, after release. Then do another poll. These are just some ideas
-Random Loot boxes, Ammo, health, random gun pickup, Useless junk like your plant example pickups too Like God of War Ragno.
-More interactible doors, Garage door opening like gears of war, Keycards, levers, Dressers, Cabinets etc. Like RE4
-Interactible lockers, under tables, or beds, where you can hide from ai
-More AI Classes like, Sniper class, runs away when you get to close, Stealth Class, Enemy goes stealth for a time when sees
you, Make Assassin Class where the ai tries to get behind you and can perform assassination on your character!
NPC-class ai runs away from you when you pull out your gun, or shoot, can perform random montages when standing still, or go to a station, when you walk into them it plays a bump anim montage.
-Guard class, where the ai guards an area, through a collistion box they will flip to enemy and attack you. Also if you shoot or point your weapon at them, they will attack you. Can give you a warning in another coliision box before you pass like don't take another step. And plays a go away montage.
-Just a few more guns, If you need models i have several i can fbx you!
-A Clothing System that goes with your pickup system. This one could be down the road. Larger out of the others.
-A heavy gunner Class, Flamethrower, and Mini gun class, Rocket launcher, you already have grenade launcher, make them where they will move out of hurting them selves distance like the sniper.
-simple animal dog, or wolf attacks you class or animal class.
-Throw knives and ninja stars and molotovs, kind of like grenades
-Melee class can switch between melee weapon and regular weapons
Enemies Shield class, Can have riot shields and can't be hurt through the shields, until they melee attack if close enough, can you pistols.
-If your character or ai is hurt will play different hurt animation until you heal Like RE4 and up
-Healing can have an static mesh play anim montage like Fallout 4 with stim packs or something
-Maybe a wanted system, down the road. AI will attack you if NPC sees or witness you doing something wrong, Stealing, Killing,Etc
-Down the Road Zombie Class- Where they can bite you like RE2 Remake in sequenced montages. Maybe last on list?
-Make the zombies where objects you bump into they can hear, like glass on the floor, or creaky boards, Could do this with the regular ai.
Special Stealth Mission ai class, if they spot you, the mission restarts, Like assassins creed Can hear creeky boards, etc to make the mission harder. Like the zombie one above
-More effects to player, Makes you walk, Can make you walk even slower if hurt or sick, Slippery surface, hot, cold, can get poisened and throw up like RE3 Remake if Enemy class has poison
=if your health is low enough enemies can play finishers on you if they are close enough. Or make it ,a special class ai that can do it.
_Ai class that can only be damaged by shooting a certain spot on them. maybe a sphere collistion you can place anywhere, Like a boss class like RE4 boss where you have to shoot the monsters eye to hurt it.
=Can have small interactions with buddy class you made. Just make a button press play an array of anim montages with Buddy,
like a high five, or pat or the shoulder
-A few interactible environment parts, Like Tomb Raider where she crawls in cave part, or wall hugs on certain parts, pushing object etc.
-Armor pickups, Bullet proof vest give you a little protection can be in Loot boxes
_Armor or weapon vendors, Vendor Class for health
-This is on your documentation list hostage mechanics.
-Leveling up system, Health, armor, etc
_buying system with vendors, Money currency
_maybe have a body looting system on Certain ai, maybe lootable class, You can loot the body like Read Dead 2, with animation
I do have one general question. How do you get the ai to drop random loot. I see the option, but they don't seem to drop health or nothing?
Everytime I am about to write you I see someone say something about the mannequin animations are not syncing. I found out with mine you have to change the skeleton from animation to skeleton. I use blender so, that could be why some of the people are saying the animations are coming out weird probably.The arms, Legs and Spine and head have to be changed to Skeleton I believe that fixed that issue for me in my last game.
Otherwist Fantastic stuff as usual. You always make great updates. I think these are smaller in scope and most probably would be easier on you. The classes are freaking such an amazing idea you had. I know it's a large list, but I know you probably can read some and be like this one will be way simplier, than that one. That's where i would start. Just release one at a time. Make it simple. It doesn't matter to me which one you do, I think most people seem to want any of these on the list from what I saw on your comments. Thanks as usual man. Cheers to a New Year!

Regarding droping items by AI - currently AI drops current weapon only. Rework of spaw drop component is planned for future updates. Although you can go to death graph in AI character, and spawn whathever item you like. Such thing is game specific too and needs design.

I just watched your new trailer and dang dude. I bought your pack awhile ago. If I could give you 5 stars all over again I honestly would. Thank you for continuing to update this and make it better each time. Awhile ago i wrote you last year and said do smaller updates and you actually seemed to do that for this 2.1 update. If i could say just do one of your bigger updates and release them like 2.2 and do a simple one like improve one of your bullet points on the road map or do a mission system. I am trying to say like release your ladder as one update. I know that is in this awesome update but as an example. I would second the guy below and make like keys or keycards for multiple doors, or just add more guns. I love the revolvers. Or an inventory system. That would be awesome since you have a pick up system. Maybe eventually like a wardrobe system? Or your hostage system on the road map. Those are the most appealing to me. I mean just as examples and release it as an update then start the next so you can release 2 or 3 updates a year then of course up your price for your work man. Still just wanted to say Merry Christmas or happy holidays thanks for this update. I love your work. This message is to hopefully be a nice read for a new year. You have done an awesome job! Hud and crosshair misaligned to screen when running in editor, poor performance, animation problems

Hello, I am using this in UE5.1
The whole hud including the crosshair are misaligned in the editor. They are too far to the left by a significant amount. When you take damage for example the red damage vingette isn't lined up with the outside edges of the screen showing the entire hud is not in the correct position. This makes it impossible to aim and shoot. I tried running the project in different resolutions and it is always an issue.
I cannot be constantly running the game as standalone when testing as it takes a very long time to launch as standalone compared to PIE.
How do I correct this issue so the hud is in the correct position with play in editor (PIE)?
Also I am getting very poor performance from this project in your demo level in the editor. It seems to run at a very low framerate at all times. How can I improve performance without lowering graphics settings?
I tried replacing the standard mannequin with a number of models and the left elbow is always inside the torso. The player model is distorted as if it is not in the correct pose with hip and feet positions. Animations don't look correct when turning. I tried a number of different ue4 models and they all have the same issue.

It depends how different your skeleton is from mannequin that is in package (which is default Epic Unreal Engine 4 skeleton). If bone structure is the same then you can retarget animations. If your skeleton is completely different, then you still can use it, but you will need your own animations for it.

Hi! I bought the package, and I've to problem. The first is :
-The crosshair (all weapon) is always in the left corner (when you shoot, you see that the animation is on)
and
-When you open the main menu level and you want to play, I've an error blueprint :
Options clicked_Event > Play (I've error target "Unknown") same on Level select clicked_event, and level selected clicked_Event
The compiler results say : Can't connect pins <Unnamed> and Target : Object reference is not compatible with level Sequence Editor Blueprint Library Object Reference
Cannot use the editor fonction "Play" in this runtime Blueprint. Only for use in Editor Utilitiy Blueprints and Blutilites.

I'm assuming you work on UE5? TPS Kit is not supported on UE5 yet.
1 Crosshair - it is engine bug since 5.1. Crosshair is in left top corner, widget just does not update location anymore. There will be work around with UE5 support of package.
2 It is again because of UE5. Main menu has references to matinee tool which is deprecated in UE5. That's why you have missing links. You can open it UE5, convert matinee to sequencer and open in UE5. Or you can wait for official UE5 support which should be soon.

I think it is possible, but why you would want to do that? Since this kit has same features and much more and you can tweak everything to your needs. I think it would be easier to import animation assets from ALS to TPS Kit, not other way around, since my guess is that you don't like animations from package.

Hello, I'm really intrested in buying your TP shooter kit! It looks amazing and very well put together. I just had a few questions before I make this purchase in the near future.
- I was looking through the documentation file on the marketplace and was curious about the camera component system you have setup. I'm looking to implement a FP and TP toggle perspective. Could this be done with your kit without breaking any cruical camera transitions? Have you tried this before as an expirement and if so, what was your results?
- I was also curious on the AI system you have built which is also super dope. I had a question about the FX when the AI is killed. Would I be able to customize the AI death animations fx to express more gore without breaking any of the blueprints?
- I'm looking to eventually work my way to a Dead Space style HUD system and I think it would go perfect with this kit. Would messing with the prebuilt HUD you have in the kit cause any issues?

1 There is FPP - aim down sight camera already. You can see it in trailer. In case regular FPP it is much more complex and definately there is no checkbox for that. Such system needs much more work. Current camera modifier is not for that.
For example FPP required new animations and design solutions for other features like cover system, climbing, vaulting etc.
It is definitely possible. I saw one user making it work although these videos are not available anymore.
2 Yes, you can change and add such things without breaking.
3 Depends what you want to do. You can just turn it off and create your own HUD.

I saw in one of your older vids you had where a grenade blew the enemy into pieces. Can you add that to the 2.1update maybe like a sniper can blow the heads off or the revolver? You are talking about dismemberment system. I never had such thing and I don't plan to make one. Reason why mannequin felt apart was because at that time physics asset for that skeleton didn't have constraints at that time (and I just enabled ragdoll on it).
So you achieve that you can just remove constraints. It will work for mannequin because it's model is combined with separate limbs - separate model for legs, arms, torso etc. To make it work on different mesh, it would have to be specially prepared - so each peace also skinned separately. Otherwise mesh would stretch without constraints.

It will be combination of weapon system (mesh part) and melee system (animation notifies). You can easily swap meshes to whatever you like. I don't have katana model, but you can use what you like. As examples there will be riot baton and some knife.

Yes. Package uses default Epic Mannequin skeleton, so if you have skeleton with same bone structure, you can retarget or even use same skeleton. As for female - yes, it doesn't really matter. Although I guess you would want replace animations with more suited for female. You can easily do that.

I'm not exactly understand what you mean. Support for gamepad controlled is already done for gameplay. Which means you can play it with x box controller for example. If you want change inputs you easily do it in project settings.

What update? Fix for climbing component? Climber was never broken, so not sure what you mean here. Currently official compatibility is for 4.27 (as it is written on store page) although like I wrote before, people made a conversion to UE5 (just open it in UE5, it will happen automatically) and writes that everything works fine already.
If you are talking about update v2.1, with new ladder system and melee weapons - it is not finished yet. I recommend getting in touch on Discord for easier communication :)

That's quite broad question. Locomotion is quite complex system. Difficulty depends how much are you familiar with animation graph coding. I don't know external packages for that so it is hard for me to say. It is possible like everything, it depends how much time and effort you want to put into this.

Hello. I'm using a character with long hair and I apply physics to the hair. When my character pulls out a weapon or put it back it collides with the hair and many times the hair just get stuck in the weapon and the physics goes all crazy. Is there any way to prevent weapons to collide with my character's physics assets? Thanks :)

Third, I want to port my game to UE4 (on my channel you can see many gameplay trailers of my game). It's running on UE3, so I will need to remake this game in UE4, and this shooter kit has almost all gameplay features I made for my game in UE3, but much more polished and professional. Since I just began to play with U4, I am still a noob, I just would like to know if I can adapt your framework to work on Mobile (Android) and consoles? And could I extend this with other mechanics, like driving vehicles, bullet time and others? Last, but not least, can I easily change in example, the way cover works, by making it automatically upon the player touches a wall? I don't think it can be ported from UE3 to UE4 - these are quite different engines. Can you run it on console and android - probably yes, but I have no way of testing it. You might need to do something platform specific. Yes, you can extend mechanics. Changing cover interaction - well you would have to code it by yourself. I don't have mechanic for auto cover.
It is not compatible with UE 4.17 since it uses newer engine features, for 4.27 and up

I don't have influence regarding default project name. Unfortunately Epic automatically makes project name from product name, no matter what project name I will send. But when you create project, you can name it whatever you want, right?
Also - project name should length not be a problem anyway. I work like that all the time. There is just warning at the start and that's it. I work on Win 10.

Your 2.0 pack is really amazing. I really am glad you are putting smaller packs at a time, instead of one big one. I am half way through my game thanks to your pack. I just wanted to know. When you release 2.1 would it be possible to migrate it to the 2.0 pack. I can't wait to see the melee ai in action. If i could ask for two things. One where if you like cross an certain area the AI would become hostile. So it could leave you alone unless you pass a certain area or collision box. Second thing, kind of like an despawning system if the enemy AI are a certain feet away from you. I put a few of the enemy ai's in my level and it drop my FPS hard. I have a 1080TI. So something that can despawn them when you are kind of away from them. Or stops them from using the ai tree till you get to a collision box. I saw your ladder video on youtube! Great work as usual! Do you think with the Ai part it will take you a couple months. Or a few weeks.

So, I rig for UE as a side gig, and have rigged thousands of models to the UE skeleton, and retargeted more animations than can be counted. This one gives me trouble. Has anyone successfully retargeted these animations to the UE4 rig? The "SK_Mannequin" that is in the kit is not a match for the ue skeleton and stretches the torso like crazy, even when retargeting. Is there some magic trick I'm missing?

Yes, I think it is possible. You could for example set faction to player, or disable reaction to enemies, and when certain condition happens, like getting shot or try to aim on that NPC, change this faction or enable this reaction to enemies.

I don't know since I never worked with VR. I think gameplay mechanics, like shooting and AI should work normally. It is more about interface and inputs I think. This you would have to implement on your own.

There is save game functionality for unlocked level and health.
There is also a checkpoint system which saves location - player is respawned in checkpoint location after death.

Seriously i'm now starting to ask this question because so many things here in store just do not work or require a bunch of configuration to work you might aswell hand make it yourself.. Does this work out of the box, do i need to do anything too this to get it too work, i am totally sick of the UE developers deception making out the product works and is great and it does half the job it was intended to do while making your customers fill in the rest of your project, the idea is to have working products i can simply add to my projects not rework your whole development just to get something of mine to work with it.
I find mod makers on the Nexus make higher quality free mods & assets then most of the so called professional products here that your charging a fortune for, i swear some of these developers think we are born yesterday and get this idea we will pay big for little programming, why do you developers think we should recreate the wheel over and over just so you can profit.

Yes, it is working. You can check demo, reviews and ask other users on Discord. You can integrate it to your project, just need to remember to copy project settings, since inputs, collision and surfaces are defined there. That's how engine works, it is not my solution.

Hello There are multiple reasons for using 4.27 - package uses features that are not in previous versions, it is easier to support and make updates for one version instead of multiple, easier to port to UE5, 4.27 is more stable (I has various crashes related to structs on 4.26). As last resort, logic should work in previous versions by just copy/pasting it.
I highly recommend make it as starting point, and add to it, instead of taking logic out, since a lot of things are related to each other. This way you will have your project on more stable engine version also, which I'm sure you will benefit from.

Hey, I added my own characters to the TPP mannequins. I don't know why, but it really distorts the thigh of my characters. I am making a cyberpunk ish game but the main character is a female and really does bad by the legs. I have retargeted the mannequin character to yours but I don' t know why the leg calfs gets really thick. I have other characters that I have retarget to many of the Epic skeletons but this one for some reason always makes the characters legs way thicker only with yours? Any ideas

It could be multiple reasons - bad joints skinning on mesh, wrongly assigned joints, missing joints, different skeletal mesh proportions. In retargeting settings, try to set thigs translation retargeting to skeleton, or one of the other options there.

Thanks! That pack looks really cool. I can help you integrate it. In TPS Kit both player and AI are using anim instance. Just event graph is separated from animation blueprint which is in parent class (ABP_TPSKit_InstanceCustomPlayer) That's to save time for retargeting and it is more optimal (you don't have same code multiple times). This way, all players characters for example, can use same class for animation logic (event graph). Same for AI. We can chat on Discord to figure this out further https://discord.gg/NdUHQnC

I doubt something is wrong since others created projects for 4.27 without a problem. Check if you have enough space, check if engine is installed correctly, removed vault local data from project.

I just bought your pack. I saw a video on youtube where the guns where all on your character. Like the sniper rifle and pistol. I bought the pack and it doesn't have any of that. I like the other parts to it. I just want that part the most. I like the new trailer you have on youtube because the guns are more modern. Will that be released in the pack as well? I really wanted weapons more like now or in Call of duty. More like ak47 or 9mm with silencers etc. I like where you can see them on your back and thigh for the pistol. Please let me know.

Everything is really stuck together and has so many dependencies. Can you modularize this into components such that I can just attach the 'weapon system component' to any ACharacter and it will just work? Having to go through all this blueprint code is really frustrating.

A lot of errors on empty project? You didn't just copy files right? You need to create project and launch it from Epic game launcher. With just migrating files to different project it will not work, because project settings file is not copied, and in it are definition for inputs and collisions. So if you do that, you need to also copy project settings file.

For a weapon like a grenade launcher, after I shoot the grenade and it bounces, will it bounce in the camera's forward direction? or will it bounce in a diagonal forward-right direction since the grenade is being shot from the left side of the reticle (since this is not a first person shooter)

So is this capable of multiplayer? (10 to 12 players?) Meaning like is there a lot of blueprint code that would make this task hard? Multiplayer as in simple network like just player host game that other players join. No dedicated servers or anything too fancy.

Hard to say, I never coded for multiplayer - is it hard - it depends of programmer skills. For me coding networking features is hard. For sure for skilled programmer it is possible.

What I suggest to do:
Create empty level in new project, place elevator and check
Other idea - do to BP_Panel, recompile (to be sure, make some change just to have compile prompt), place it on level and check. What might causing the issue is engine conversion/compilation from one version to another.
Yet another idea - check for example demo level, if there are multiple elevators in same place, if they are, just delete them, since as I said, it is construction script bug, I don't have influence on that

I want something similar to The last of Us where cover is automatic when you crouch behind something rather than pressing a button. What would be the best way to go about altering the bot logic so that it interacts well in that kind of team based environment (go after bots or the human player on opposite team, guard fellow teammates etc)? It is going forward definitely. I hired more outsource to speed things up (additional animations and art) Finishing up very important part which is locomotion. I really want to do it without bugs, high quality, that's why it takes time, but locomotion is very hard, because it is very subjective if it looks good enough. I'm planning some bigger video, but I'm postponing it every week, because I want to show you guys more stuff, and more finished features. I think when I will finish locomotion and aiming, I will make a bigger video showing progress (weapon attachments, some new FX, locomotion, AI throwing grenades, AI picking up items/weapons) I'm aiming for September, but obviously can't be 100% sure if they won't be any surprises along the way. Is there an expected update pipeline with dates? For the future updates with melee, I would love to see a nice focus of melee comparable to DMC def not expected to be as smooth. It's just many shooter assets miss the mark with melee and I have high hopes for this system as it's working well with my project just a really rough patch with the melee combat.

Of course you can use in your project, although I recommend moving your assets to the kit, and use it as a base, since a lot of features are connected with each other. You can of course replace all animatons/characters with yours.

1 Hard to say. It depends which features and on what level are your blueprints skills. I think is whole inventory from SGK is doable.
2 No multiplayer. Similar, I think it is doable, it is depending of your blueprint skills.

Advanced Locomotion System integration

Yes, I'm very interested in purchasing this kit, but I need it integrated to ALS V3 because the character moves naturally/realistically in there (and because it has the player capsule collision already set for stairs and irregular terrain). But I don't know if I will have to reprogram everything due to kit integration. Do we have support to ask kit integration questions in Discord?

Yes! I was referring to the Player's capsule collision bumping into stairs collision, creating the jitter movement. But it's just a detail that I'll try to fix with IK (and a lot of collision adjustment). You're delivering us a great shooter mechanic already. Thank you!

Integration with that kit could be possible, but I think it can be bit of work, since my kit covers different things and animations are very related to gameplay logic. Why you need this integration?
